Troubled Times: February 2022

January 29, 2022

In a world filled with so many uncertainties, just what are we to do? Not only what are we to do, but what does God want us to know about life and all its ups and downs, all its valleys and mountains. The Bible does not teach that we should live in fear of these things. God wants us to live in His fullness and enjoy life in light of His blessings each day. God wants us to live the abundant life and so much more.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10 Covid has played a role in causing so much death, heartaches, and despair. As I quoted a portion of (Hee Haws) song “gloom, despair, and agony on me”, many of us at many times have allowed ourselves to think on this line. God says we are over-comers, not people who should live in continual defeat.

In praying that soon God will allow something to make Covid and any other harmful virus to leave and never come back. The main thing that God wants us to know is that we can trust Him with all our hearts. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5,6 That means whole hearted trust. He is the author and finisher of our faith. God also wants us to share our faith with lost people. They are everywhere you look. At the Bank, in the school, and work, at Wal-Mart and no doubt next door.

I’m looking forward to better days. A day when smiles return to the faces of our friends and loved ones. I know life is not without its problems. Problems are often sent our way by God to provide greater opportunities.

As Gods Children we need to look for the possibilities in the midst of the problems. Gods people have always worked in this way. Just look at the prison epistles. All was written from behind cell bars by Paul himself. It was in prison that John Bunyon saw the great allegory that would later become Pilgrims Progress. Sometimes good things com from bad times.

Joseph learned this lesson in the hard way. He also learned that God hadn’t forsaken him. He understood that the world wants bad things to destroy us but he learned that God meant it all for his good and God’s Glory. But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them. Genesis 50:20,21

Charles Colson said that his lowest times as a believer was far more fulfilling than all his days in the White house when he was an unbeliever.

I guess it’s all in how we view God! Don’t give up or in looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. Luke 21:28c
